| • Are the puppies being handled daily?
Things to Look for in a Breeder
• Does the breeder have more than one type of dog
for breeding purposes? -If they breed
Boxers and one
or two other breeds, how much attention is devoted
to the Boxers?
• Where are the dogs kept? – If you see kennels and
barns where the dogs spend their days-
then how well
socialized are the dogs and puppies?
• Is the area where the dogs are clean? – Filth and
feces harbor bacteria and disease, not only
for
adult dogs and puppies, but humans too!
• Champions in the Bloodline? Even if the breeder is
not an active shower doesn’t mean the
dogs aren’t
top quality. If you are looking for a show dog, go
to a breeder that is actively
showing. Buy the best
dog and you will need mentoring to get started. If
you are interested
in a pet companion, it is
important that the champions be with in 3-5
generations. This
ensures QUALITY. By quality I mean
that these CHAMPIONS epitomize the Boxer standard.
It is important that your Boxer be related to
several champion Boxers to ensure quality of
temperament, soundness and beauty. |
